Hello skiers,
Another cold day of nice skiing with plenty of sun, less wind and very light crowds. The temp hit 10 overnight but rebounded to the low 20's although single digits at the summit. Surface conditions remained excellent with great visibility today. Wind was still a factor on the west side and Huega. Wayout via Whitecloud was very cold but smooth skiing and Claire's had more more shine than snow which made it undesireable and I question why it was even open. The ride up "Z" was very cold and windy - better to stay on the front of the mtn. All front trails were equally good with Cliff / Racer's still my run of choice. Both "D" and "F" were shut yesterday and today. The quad was running slow again and the high wind warning signs were posted in the ticket windows.
GM had surgery in the city yesterday around his thyroid gland so if any of you have updated info please let me know or post it to my BLOG site: http://hunterskiscene.blogspot.com/ We all wish him well.
Tomorrow is shaping up to be the best weather day of the week before some messy stuff comes in Thurs - Fri and the forecasts are calling for a blustery weekend.
Ski ya,
Jon
