Two top 5's in a row!! Absolutely another great day of sun tan skiing. An early mix of snow & rain this am really softened things up as overnight temps failed to reach freezing. The clouds broke around 10 am and the sun came out in a cloudless sky as temps shot right up to 50. The mtn was empty and surface conditions became spring-like fast. All trails were slow and easy as the snow got sticky and clumpy but a hot wax job helped solve that problem. Claire's was a delight and even Apurna softened a bit tho still mostly hard and fast but with some thin spots developing. This weekend is the Latitude 42 North competition and band stands have been erected on the front deck with lots of new rails / jumps and the 25 ft high quarter pipe built in the terrain park. There will be fireworks again Sat night. On March 8 we move clocks ahead 1 hr and the mtn will keep the quad running until 5pm on Saturdays thereafter. Rain will arrive tomorrow pm and lead into an iffy weather weekend that could become nasty. The weathermen are tracking a storm system for Sun into Monday that could bring snow. Snowmaking I am told has been terminated for the season.
Ski ya,
Jon
