Hunter skiing Feb 1

Hi All,
The week and month started out with some very sweet skiing thanks to lots of sun, no wind, temps in the mid 20's (tho low teens last night) and very good grooming (except Racer's & Claire's which were ice bumps). All front side trails were equally good today and there was no need or desire to go west. The mountain was relatively empty although there were at least a hundred signed up for the Localmotion race (party at O'Neils). There was no snow making in progress.
There will be a couple of thousand firemen arriving over the next few days for their annual races and to greet them, the mtn in its infinite wisdom, decided to pull the quad motor out tonight and send it to Troy for a rebuild. It is not expected back until pm Wed assuming all goes well therefore the firemen and everyone else will have to use B or D to F in order to reach the summit. Needless to say, the hosers are not a happy bunch.
The forecast calls for continued cold throughout the week with clouds Tuesday and snow showers into Wed but no significant accumulation expected.
Ski ya, http://hunterskiscene.blogspot.com/
