Hunter skiing 12/16

Hunter is in recovery mode - there was less than 1" overnight. It was another non-ski day mainly because the quad was down for most of the morning and into the early afternoon (I think it only ran for about 25 minutes) but other factors also made it uninviting: all the soft snow froze overnight as temps dipped to 18, the wind was nasty and still is and guns were all on the main line (nothing blowing on the west side or the Belt yet) as they try to recover. The high temp today is 25 but Thurs & Fri both look good but bitter cold for skiing assuming the snow making continues. The sun was in and out all day. The quad looks to be a real question mark for the season unless they figure out how to keep the old thing (built 1987) running consistently as I do not think the shutdown was weather related. I have been on it in stronger winds without incident.
Bundle up for the weekend especially if you plan to ride the quad.
Ski ya,
Jon
